A 19-year-old Upper Nazareth man who police say is a registered sex offender is facing new charges—for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl in two places, including a Lower Nazareth laundromat, court records say.

While Vincent Steven Ritchie is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and other counts, the girl told police that she and Ritchie consider each other to be boyfriend and girlfriend, the records say.

Ritchie was being held in Northampton County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.

The records say the alleged incidents occurred this past November and December. One of the locations is listed as the Maytag Laundry Center in Lower Nazareth, the records say. The other location allegedly was a second-floor bedroom in a Nazareth home.

Police talked to the girl Jan. 6, and she said she and Ritchie had sex inside the laundromat and inside the Nazareth home, the complaint says.

Ritchie, whose address is listed as 241 Hemlock Lane in Upper Nazareth, is charged with:

—Two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16.

—Two counts of statutory sexual assault.

—Two counts of corruption of minors.

—Two counts of indecent assault with a person less than 16.

—One count of indecent exposure.

An arrest warrant for Ritchie was approved Saturday. He was taken into custodySunday and arraigned by on-duty District Judge Diane Marakovits of Northampton.

This is exactly what I am talking about- How does this 14yr old's parents not know that this is happening? Too many people have no clue on what their kids are doing these days! And whose house in Nazareth? If this is happening in someone's house- whether or not they are aware of it- are they not responsible? I thought that was the law. Something smells rotten in the state of Denmark! I am not saying this 19yo is not to blame and totally at fault. However, I find it hard to believe that no one knew about it- especially, if in a somewhat public place-i.e. a laundromat, someone's house in Nazareth, and 14yo girls tend to talk to people and probably not good at keeping secrets. I know, just my opinion- looking from the outside in, and I am sure there is more to this story... But, "just sayin"....

I know the two girls who accused this guy originally. "Know" as in I know their moms. I saw both girls at the laundromat with this guy, but they weren't doing anything other than "hanging out" at the time. It's weird because I remember having the thought, "He's asking for trouble." Both of the girls are what I would call "high-risk"...their moms work to make ends meet, the girls run around Nazareth with little to no supervision, and have low self-esteem. An older boy paying attention to them is just the ticket. I don't think they learned anything from this other than how to get more attention. It's sad, for all three of them. He should have known better, and they should have been watched better. Praying something good comes out of all of this...
