Preliminary Hearing for Alleged Meth Maker Postponed

Wednesday's preliminary hearing for Jaclyn Ditaranto, 21, of the 100 block of W. North St., has been moved to Feb. 28 at 2 p.m.; she is facing multiple drug charges.

Wednesday's preliminary hearing for a Nazareth woman charged with manufacturing methamphetamine has been moved to Feb. 28 at 2 p.m., according to court documents.

Jaclyn Ditaranto, 21, of the 100 block of W. North St., was arrested Dec. 14 at her home after police found 40 packets of Sudafed, a cooking device, a plastic bladder and clear plastic bags -- items commonly used to make methamphetamine -- in an upstairs bedroom, according to court documents.

Multiple needles and a spoon coated with a white residue were also found in the bedroom.

Ditaranto was charged with one count each of manufacturing a controlled substance and recklessly endangering another person, and nine counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was released from Northampton County Prison in January after posting 10 percent of $5,000 cash bail.
