Police: Reckless Driver was Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance

A blood toxicology report showed that Gabrielle Greenberg of Plainfield Township was under the influence of a controlled substance when she was pulled over by police in Lower Nazareth.

A woman is facing drug charges after a blood toxicology report showed she was under the influence of a controlled substance when she was pulled over by on Dec. 18.

According to a press release from Colonial Regional, Gabrielle Greenberg, 21, of the 600 block of Youngs Hill Road is facing charges of driving under the influence, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She will also receive a traffic citation.

Police were dispatched on Dec. 18 around 1:16 a.m. for a report of a reckless driver traveling east on Route 248.

The witness who called in the report followed the blue Honda in question to in the Northampton Crossings shopping center and then to , where officers located the vehicle.

Officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle being driven by Greenberg. She was then taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and taken to the Bethlehem DUI center. A blood toxicology report indicated that she was under the influence of a controlled substance.

Greenberg's car was impounded and a search warrant was obtained. Officers found a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Charges will be filed through office.
