Police: Oswald's Jewelry Store Robbed

Nazareth Borough Police Department is asking for the public's assistance concerning a strong-arm robbery of G.S. Oswald Jeweler on Tuesday.

The Nazareth Borough Police Department is asking for the public’s help concerning the strong-arm robbery of G.S. Oswald Jeweler, 48 E. Center St., on Tuesday, Aug. 16 around noon -- when dozens of area police were at the funeral for an officer gunned down last week.

Police Chief Thomas Trachta said that "a weapon was not displayed during the robbery, but there was a struggle" between the robber and the owner. The victim refused medical attention.

Police describe the robber as a white man, approximately 28 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He has a small goatee, numerous ear piercings and was wearing large sunglasses, a dark baseball cap and a black leather jacket.

The man was last seen fleeing north on Broad Street riding a motorcycle.

At the time of the robbery, many law enforcement officials from all over the Lehigh Valley were attending for Freemansburg Police Officer .
