Police: New York Man Forges Prescription, Runs From Officer

Eian McMillan, of the Bronx, ran from the Wal-Mart in Lower Nazareth Township after a prescription he submitted was found to be forged.

A New York man accused of forging a prescription for oxycodone and trying to get it filled at the in Lower Nazareth Township tried but failed to run away from the police officer who arrested him on Tuesday, according to court records.

Eian McMillan, 27, of the Bronx, was charged with acquisition of a controlled substance by forgery – a first-degree felony, forgery and resisting arrest. He was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail following his arraignment before District Judge Roy Manwaring in Bethlehem.

McMillan dropped off a prescription – ostensibly written by a New York doctor – for 240 oxycodone pills at 4 p.m. Tuesday. But when the pharmacist checked with the doctor’s office, he found that the prescription for the pain medication was a forgery.

were called and waited for McMillan to return to pick up the prescription. When the suspect arrived at 5:30 p.m. to make the pickup, an officer told him he was under arrest. McMillan initially placed his hands behind his back, but then ran out of the store.

The officer gave chase into the parking lot where both men were nearly struck by a car. McMillan continued to run out onto Route 248 where he finally was apprehended.
