Police: Nazareth Man to Receive Summons for Simple Assault, Harassment

A 27-year-old Nazareth man will be receiving a summons for simple assault and harassment, according to police, after he was involved in an altercation Saturday that escalated into another fight later that day.

The earlier fight, according to a press release from Lower Saucon Township police, involved Michael Blair, of the 300 block of Mauch Chunk Street; Kenneth Blair, 24, of the 1000 block of Monroe Street in Freemansburg; and Brian Williams Jr., 20, of the 2000 block of Butztown Road in Bethlehem.

In that altercation, Michael Blair "slammed (Williams) to the ground" and Williams "tried to smash a rock in (Michael Blair's) face," police stated.

After the fight was broken up, police said Williams went to his car and was approached by Kenneth Blair and "unknown actors," with Kenneth Blair jumping into the vehicle to begin another assault on Williams.

Later that day, according to police, Kenneth Blair attacked Williams as he tried to leave the in Lower Saucon.

"Ken ripped Brian from the car and assaulted him," police said, adding that Williams suffered "multiple face lacerations" in the attack and had to be taken to the trauma center at St. Luke's Hospital for treatment.

Kenneth Blair was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment. Following an arraignment before District Judge Jacqueline Taschner, he was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of 10 percent of $10,000 bail, the press release stated.

Michael Blair will receive a summons for simple assault and harassment, and Williams will receive summonses for simple assault and underage drinking, according to police.

Police did not indicate how or if the two Blairs are related.
