Police: Nazareth Man Throws Pitchfork at 8-year-old

Michael Cummings, of the 400 block of W. High St. in Nazareth, allegedly dumped a beer on a neighborhood boy and then threw a pitchfork at him.

An intoxicated Nazareth man armed with a pitchfork went after an 8-year-old boy who was riding a bike in the neighborhood, according to .

Michael Cummings, 58, of 414 W. High St., was charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct May 10.

Cummings, according to the boys mother, dumped a beer on her son and then threw the pitchfork at him, puncturing a tire. When Officer Daniel Troxell spoke to the boy, who, according to the police report, was “scared and shaken,” confirmed his mother’s account.

Cummings was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail. Conditions of his release on bail includes that he is not allowed any alcohol consumption and have no contact with the boy or his mother.
