Police: Man Tried to Use Forged Prescription for Oxycodone

A Stroudsburg man allegedly tried to use a forged prescription at the CVS in Lower Nazareth Township.

John Bara, 43, of Stroudsburg, allegedly tried to use a forged presciption at the in Lower Nazareth Township to purchase oxycodone, according to .

On Nov. 28, police say, Bara attempted to obtain 180 oxycodone pills at 30mg each.

Bara was arraigned before District Judge Joseph Barner on Dec. 1. He was charged with two counts of forgery and one count of criminal attempt to acquire or obtain possession of a controlled substance -- all felony counts.

Bara was initially sent to Northampton County Prison, but has since been released after 10 percent of his $2,000 bail was posted.
