Police Blotter: Retail Thefts Plague Kohl's Department Store

Three juveniles and two women apprehended for retail theft since Feb. 3.

have reported the following retail thefts at in Lower Nazareth Township: 

  • Two 16-year-old females were apprehended after allegedly taking $202 and $110 of clothing items from Kohl’s Department Store on Feb. 3, according to police.

    One of the juveniles was cited, the other is being referred to the Northampton County Juvenile Probation Department.

    They were both released to their parents.

 

  • The loss prevention staff at Kohl’s apprehended a juvenile and a 19-year-old Wind Gap woman for retail theft on Feb. 4 at about 6 p.m., according to police.

    The 16-year-old female allegedly put $214.04 of unpaid merchandise in her purse, while Jessica L. Vernon of 395 Swamp Road put $59.97 of unpaid merchandise in her purse.  They both attempted to leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.

    The juvenile was released to her mother and charges will be sent through the mail.

    Vernon was cited and released.

  • Loss prevention staff at Kohl’s apprehended an Upper Mount Bethel woman on Feb. 7 around 4 p.m. when she tried to leave with $275 worth of sheets, according to police.

    Desiree Roman, 40, of 875 Five Points-Richmond Road, was arraigned before District Judge Gay Elwell in Easton on charges of retail theft, theft by deception and receiving stolen property.  She was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.

 

Colonial Regional Police also reported the following retail theft at in Lower Nazareth Township:

  • A 16-year-old female from Easton was apprehended by Wal-Mart's loss prevention staff on Feb. 9 after she was viewed putting $57.88 of unpaid merchandise in her purse, according to police.  She then attempted to leave the store.

    A non-traffic citation was issued and she was released to her mother.
