Police Blotter: Retail Thefts, Domestic Disturbance, Home Invasion Robbery Arrest

Colonial Regional Police were busy with three retail thefts at Wal-Mart, a domestic disturbance and a home invasion robbery arrest.

reported the following incidents:

 

Retail Theft: A husband and wife from Easton were cited for retail theft on March 5 after loss prevention staff in Lower Nazareth Township observed the two concealing almost $200 of merchandise in a diaper bag, according to police.

Police say Danielle Raisin, 31, of 519 Valley St. allegedly took 12 general merchandise items, including baby clothes, valued at $64.19 and placed them in a diaper bag.

In another part of the store, according to police, Peterson Raisin, 27, of the same address, selected a computer hard drive, a PlayStation 3 video game controller and a Tom and Jerry DVD. The merchandise had a total value of $133.96.  Peterson then met up with his wife and placed the items in the diaper bag.

Police say the pair paid for some merchandise, but exited the store without paying for the items concealed in the bag.

The Raisins were stopped outside by store security and both were issued a non-traffic citation for retail theft and released, according to police.

 

Retail Theft: Brittany Flores, 19, of Lynfield Drive, Bethlehem, was cited for retail theft on March 5 after Flores allegedly concealed and tried to leave Wal-Mart with $25.71 of unpaid merchandise, according to police.

Police say Flores selected several clothing items and then placed them inside less expensive clothing items in an attempt to conceal the pricier items.  She was also observed concealing a small wallet and a pair of underwear, according to police.

Flores made a purchase, but did pay for the concealed items, according to police.  She was stopped at the entrance of the store by security and was issued a non-traffic citation and released, according to police.

 

Retail Theft: A Bethlehem man was cited for retail theft on March 6 after he allegedly tried to leave Wal-Mart without paying for a pair of shoes, according to police.

Police say Gerald Achey Jr., 21, of 1878 Levering Place selected a pair of shoes, placed them on his feet and attempted to exit the store without paying for the merchandise.

Wal-Mart security stopped Achey at the entrance of the store, according to police, and police released Achey with a non-traffic citation for retail theft.

 

Domestic Disturbance: A Lower Nazareth Township man was cited for harassment on March 6 after he allegedly grabbed and twisted the arm of his wife while calling her a vulgar name, according to police.

Police say Gregory Roberts, 28, of 3751 Newburg Road and his wife, who has not been identified by police, got into a verbal argument.

According to the wife, Roberts allegedly grabbed her arm and twisted it while calling her a vulgar name before leaving the residence.

Roberts’ wife was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill, for treatment of an injury and was released.

Roberts was cited for harassment.

 

Home Invasion Robbery: An Allentown man has been committed to Northampton County Prison after police allege he and two others committed a home invasion robbery on May 13, 2009 at 3851 Bath Pike in Lower Nazareth Township, according to police.

Daniel Negron, 26, of 642 N. Grant St. has been charged with robbery, criminal conspiracy to commit robbery, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property and simple assault.

Negron was arraigned before District Judge James Narlesky and bail was set at $500,000.
