Police Blotter: Four Retail Thefts and a Domestic Disturbance

A Wind Gap woman makes the weekly police blotter for a second time.

reported the following incidents:

  • Retail Theft: After allegedly removing price tags from various jewelry items and concealing them in her purse on March 9 at in Lower Nazareth Township, Peggy Oliver, 33, of 2117 Freemansburg Ave. was charged with retail theft, police say.

    The Wilson Borough woman was arraigned before District Judge Joseph Barner and released on $1,000 unsecured bail, according to police.

 

  • Retail Theft: Two Bethlehem women were cited for retail theft on March 12 after loss prevention personnel at in Lower Nazareth Township observed the two allegedly concealing cosmetic items in their purses, according to police.

    Police say Brianna Dejesus, 20, of Glendale Avenue, concealed $105.20 worth of merchandise and Jaselle Pacheco, 21, of Randolf Road, concealed $86.97 worth of merchandise.

    According to police, loss prevention personnel stopped the two females as they attempted to leave the store without paying for the items.

    Both were cited for retail theft and released. The citations will be filed through District Judge Joseph Barner’s office.

  • Retail Theft: A Lower Saucon Township man was charged with retail theft on March 13 after he allegedly fled Wal-Mart on March 7 with $169 worth of electronics, according to police.

    Colonial Regional Police were able to stop Richard Baker IV of Saucon Meadow Court on Route 248 shortly after he fled and took him into custody.

    Baker was arraigned at Northampton County central booking and taken to Northampton County Prison under $5,000 cash bail.

 

  • Retail Theft: A Wind Gap woman was committed to Northampton County prison after she allegedly concealed $333.65 worth of merchandise in a shopping bag at Kohl’s Department Store on March 15, according to police.

    Police say Jessica Stem, 22, of Indian Trail, allegedly concealed the items while she was in one of the store’s dressing rooms.

    Stem was arraigned in front of District Judge James Narlesky and committed to Northampton County Prison under $2,000 cash bail.

    On Feb. 11, Stem was after she allegedly tried to leave Wal-Mart with $83.50 of unpaid merchandise, according to police.  At that time, Stem was issued a non-traffic citation for retail theft and released.

reported the following incident:

  • Domestic Disturbance: A Nazareth man is charged with hitting and threatening his girlfriend during an argument at their home on the morning of March 12, according to court papers.

    Kevin D. Pongracz, 24, of 161 Spring St., has been charged with two counts of simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment and was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.

    The live-in girlfriend told police that Pongracz hit her in the leg, shoulder and arms over a two-day period and, during the Saturday morning argument, picked up an iron and threatened to hit her in the face with it “if she did not shut up,” the arrest affidavit says.

    Pongracz also threatened to kill her by hitting her in the face repeatedly with the iron, according to the arrest affidavit.
