Police say witnesses noticed Michael Slack, 29, of 4629 Oakwood Drive falling over while trying to check the pressure of a spare tire on the 4000 block of Hecktown Road.

Before police arrived, Slack and a 15-year-old male, who was not identified because of his age, left and continued down Hecktown Road in a maroon Nissan with New Jersey registration, according to police.

Police pulled Slack over on the Hecktown Road exit off Route 33 south in Lower Nazareth Township and was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Slack was taken to Easton Hospital for testing.  According to police, his blood-alcohol level was 0.18 percent. The legal limit is 0.08 percent.

Charges of DUI, endangering the welfare of children, public drunkenness and traffic-related offenses against Slack will be filed through District Judge Joseph Barner’s office.

Charges against Fiore Fardy, 31, were filed through Barner’s office.
  • Retail Theft:  Two Bangor teens allegedly tried to steal two shopping carts worth of Easter decorations and candy from Wal-Mart in Lower Nazareth Township on April 20, according to police.

Police say Brittany Avery, 18, of N. 6th Street, and a 17-year-old female, whose name was not released because of her age, were observed by the store’s loss prevention staff placing items into two shopping carts.

They then went to five different sections of the store, according to police, and concealed the items in plastic Wal-Mart shopping bags.

Loss prevention staff stopped the teens as they attempted to walk out of the store without paying for the items, according to police.

Both were issued non-traffic citations and released.
