According to the arrest affidavit, police were called to Vinh's mother's home at 27 N. Broad St., Nazareth, for an "unwanted guest." When police tried to serve him with a "no trespass" notice, Vinh walked away and said, "I have things to do."

Officer Benjamin Rizzotto tried to stop Vinh by holding onto a backpack he was carrying. When police told him to drop his bags, Vinh threw one of them, faced the officer and flared his arm, the affidavit said.
