A 26-year-old Nazareth man faces charges of injuring a Nazareth police officer who tried to serve him Friday with a notice not to trespass at his mother's house.
Kevin Vinh, of 33 S. Main St., is charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment, according to court documents.
According to the arrest affidavit, police were called to Vinh's mother's home at 27 N. Broad St., Nazareth, for an "unwanted guest." When police tried to serve him with a "no trespass" notice, Vinh walked away and said, "I have things to do."
Officer Benjamin Rizzotto tried to stop Vinh by holding onto a backpack he was carrying. When police told him to drop his bags, Vinh threw one of them, faced the officer and flared his arm, the affidavit said.
Officer Daniel Troxell assisted, ordering Vinh to stop resisting. Rizzotto fell to the ground in the exchange. He had minor injuries to his left hand and knees, according to the affidavit.
