Nazareth Area School Bus in Accident Tuesday Morning

No students were seriously injured in a school bus accident Tuesday morning, according to police and school officials.

A Nazareth Area school bus carrying 12 intermediate school students was involved in an accident Tuesday morning as snow fell.

No students were seriously injured in the accident on the 600 block of Rose Inn Avenue in Bushkill Township, according to a statement from Superintendent Dennis Riker. One student sustained a minor lip injury that did not require treatment.

According to Bushkill Township police, an SUV slid into the front of the oncoming bus. The accident happened before 8 a.m.

The students were transferred to a new bus and brought to the intermediate school, where they were checked by a nurse. Parents were notified and were given the opportunity to talk with their children. 

All students remained in school and were monitored through the day.

It is not known if the driver of the SUV was injured.

The crash remains under investigation, but no charges are expected to be filed, according to police.
