Man's Face Broken in Parking Lot Fight, Police Say

A Plainfield Township man is facing assault charges after allegedly punching a man in the face—causing several fractures—during a dispute in the Shoe Dept. parking lot. 

Robert Patrey, 31, of Capp Road, was charged Monday with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, court records say.

The altercation happened around 9:30 p.m. March 30, a Saturday, according to Colonial Regional Police, in the parking lot of Shoe Dept. in the Northampton Crossings Shopping Center.

Police say Patrey approached the 19-year-old victim as he was leaving work and walking toward his vehicle.

According to police, Patrey yelled at the victim to stay away from his girlfriend’s daughter and “chest-bumped” the victim several times. When the victim pushed Patrey away, according to police, Patrey punched the victim in the side of his face.

The victim declined EMS treatment. But during a hospital visit the next day, police say, an X-ray showed several facial fractures.
