Scott Anthony Folmar, 43, of Wilson is accused of stealing vacuums from Walmart in the Northampton Crossings shopping center.

A Wilson Borough man was arrested and charged hours after he allegedly stole vacuums from Walmart in Lower Nazareth Township.

Scott Anthony Folmar, 43, of the 2000 block of Sycamore Street, was arrested at his home Saturday night by the Wilson Borough and Colonial Regional police departments. He has been charged with felony retail theft, according to a press release.

By the time Colonial Regional officers arrived at the Northampton Crossings shopping center, Folmar allegedly had fled in a gold-colored Honda Civic. But later that night, police say, the vehicle was stopped on the 800 block of S. 5th Street in Easton. It was not clear who was driving the vehicle.

Colonial Regional police responded and through an investigation identified the alleged shoplifter as Folmar. He was taken into custody at his home. Colonial Regional officers were assisted by the Wilson Borough Police Department.

Folmar was arraigned by on-duty District Judge David W. Tidd and sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail, according to police. He is also being held for violating probation, police say.

Nine days before his retail theft arrest, court records say, Folmar pleaded guilty to use/possession of drug paraphernalia and was sentenced to six months' probation.
