Boy and his Dog Escape Fire in Lower Nazareth

A teenage boy and his dog escape a house fire on Vista Drive in Lower Nazareth Township, but flames tear through the roof.

A boy and his dog escaped their burning home in Lower Nazareth this afternoon while the fire burned through the roof.

The home, at 4364 Vista Drive, was being renovated, and the boy said at the scene the fire started at a light fixture in a bathroom. Both the teenager and the dog were unharmed.

The home is owned by Gregory and Theresa Newman, according to Northampton County property records.

Chief Roy Seiple confirmed the home was under renovation.

Multiple fire departments were dispatched, including , , , Nancy Run (Bethlehem Township) and Palmer Municipal Fire Department.

Flames were reportedly shooting through the roof when firefighters arrived, according to scanner reports.
