'Hot Spots' Will Scorch Nazareth Motorists if Stopped

Nazareth police target 12 spots in the borough to bolster traffic and speed limit enforcement.

Police Chief Thomas Trachta told Nazareth Patch they were coming.

And now they are here.

The Nazareth Police Department has targeted a dozen "hot spots" throughout the borough, where police patrols will be bolstered.

Mayor Carl Strye Jr. confirmed the hot spots in an email to Nazareth Patch this week after it was announced at Monday's Police Committee meeting.

Of course, you won't find out from Trachta or Strye just where these "hot spots" are located. That's classified information. But motorists be warned.

Trachta said the areas are "high traffic" spots and enforcement of speed limits will be enforced, just in time for the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Nazareth Borough Council is bolstering the police department and is in the process of reviewing candidates to add several full-time police positions. The council also announced the addition of two part-time officers.
