Cat Rescued from House Fire on S. Broad Street

Four fire departments were dispatched to a "working dwelling fire" at 157 S. Broad St. in Nazareth Friday night.

Firefighters extinguished a blaze tonight at a Nazareth home. Crews concentrated their efforts toward the rear of 157 S. Broad Street, which is owned by Joseph Tavianini Jr. of Bath, according to Northampton County property records.

No injuries have been reported. A cat was receiving oxygen at the scene, and Mike Rinker, the emergency management coordinator for the borough, was calling around for a veterinarian.

Two families totaling seven people were displaced by the fire, according to the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley.

A call seeking comment from was not immediately returned Friday night.

Vigilance Hose, , Palmer Municipal Fire Department and were all dispatched.
