Easton Man Charged with Cutting Wife

The following information was supplied by Easton police in court documents. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

When Easton Patrolman Jeffrey Crosson responded to a call early Saturday on the 600 block of Spring Garden Street, the home’s door was open and he saw blood on the floor.

He then encountered a man and woman upstairs, and the woman showed him a large open laceration on her right wrist and forearm. She said the man – her husband – did it with a large serrated kitchen knife, court records say.

The husband, Jaronzia Marquese Fletcher, 38, was charged with aggravated assault for “intentionally” cutting his wife, Yasmeen Fluellen, with a deadly weapon, the knife, during a fight, the records say.

He also was charged with simple assault, harassment by physical contact and recklessly endangering another person.

Fluellen also told the officer her husband allegedly dragged her down the stairs after the fight, which occurred shortly before 1 a.m. And Crosson noted in his criminal complaint he saw blood smeared on the walls and stairway railing.

Fletcher was arraigned at 4 a.m. Saturday by on-duty District Judge David Tidd of Lower Saucon Township and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $30,000 bail.

bill burr, How do you prospectively tell the good guys from the bad guys? I was waiting for the NRA's Wayne Lapierre (sp?) to tell us, but he didn't.

If that was so easy to do then we could arrest the bad guys before they commit their crimes and our society would be free of crime but its not so easy to do. Can you tell who the bad guys are??? There are steps we could take and have taken but in the end if a bad guy wants a gun he will get one. Bad guys don't go into a gun store and buy a gun legally they buy a stolen gun or they steal a gun. Bad guys also use knives, bats, etc. As far guns are concerned, finding out who the bad guys are is very simple. Fellons, insane people who have been committed to a an institution, and a few other kinds of offenders cannot buy guns. Its called a background investigation and its very thorough. As far as telling what people will become bad guys after they bought a gun well that is impossible just like its impossible to tell which people will commit DWI's after they get their driver's license. Which by the way kills more people than guns do each year. Yet know one has talked about banning alcohol. The truth is very simple, reform our justice system and make the punishment for commiting crimes appropriate to the crime. Murderers and other scum should never belet out of jail and in jail should be treated like prisoners.

Give me one reason a person needs an semiautomatic weapon that unloads 30 rounds of bullets in minutes?
bill burr December 28, 2012 at 05:22 PM
Because they want it. Why do you want a car that can go over 55 mph???. Why do you need a cell phone with unlimited minutes, text, and data??? Because you want it. You want a better answer because the bad guys have faster guns that can shoot out 30 rounds in a matter seconds. Why do people need to drink alcohol??? Alcohol kills more people each year than guns do. Whats the purpose of alcohol??? None but to make you drunk. Why do people need to smoke cigarettes??? And don't tell me its different, its not. If you can judge others they can judge you. So get over yourself!!!
