Drunken Driver Parked Car in Stranger's Back Yard, Police Say

Frederick Sandt, 45, of Bethlehem Township, is facing drunken driving charges after he allegedly parked his car in a Lower Nazareth man's back yard.

A Bethlehem Township man is facing drunken driving charges after he allegedly parked his car in a stranger’s back yard.

A homeowner on Cobblestone Lane in Lower Nazareth Township called police around 10:24 p.m. March 1 to report a vehicle—one he did not recognize—in his back yard.

When police arrived, 45-year-old Frederick Sandt was found sitting in the back seat of his vehicle. Sandt identified himself as the driver, police say.

In a press release, Colonial Regional Officer Andy Laudenslager notes that Sandt showed extreme signs of intoxication, had a difficult time walking, and smelled of alcohol when he spoke.

Sandt was taken to the Easton DUI Center for processing. He faces charges of driving under the influence and trespassing by motor vehicle, according to police.

Right, the police did not see Sandt driving but they charged him with DUI. Didn"t they say since they did not see Audenreid driving they could not charge him with DUI? So much for special preference the police insist they don't give to politicians.

"There is nothing to indicate that it was or wasn’t [a DUI], quite honestly," Seiple explained. "He was in a private parking lot, he was parked, he did not have physical control over the vehicle. [The charges] fall where they fall, and that’s it."
Seiple added: "Bottom line is, my officers are professional, they know what they’re doing. They’re on the scene, they know what transpired." It seems the main difference between the two crimes was that Mr. Sandt admitted he was driving when asked. I wonder if Mr. Audenried was actually asked if he was driving. I'm assuming since Cheif Seiple indicated that his officers are professional that they indeed did ask Mr. Audenried if he was driving and he said no. The lesson to be learned here is that if you get drunk and pull over to pass out, do not admit to an officer that you were driving before passing out.

Well who else would've been driving Chris's car?? And I think an even bigger difference was the OPEN bottle of vodka, the DRIVER SEAT, yet the Colonial Region swept it under the rug because they were currently negotiating with Nazareth, and Chris sat on police commitee!! The corruption here is so thick it is suffocating this whole area!!!

Nazareth Councilman Chris Audenried did the same thing except he was videotaped by the Giant Supermarket’s cameras and Chris Audenried had a big bottle of vodka with him. This is the good old boys network of special treatment. Colonial Regional Police Chief Seiple added: "Bottom line is, my officers are professional, they know what they’re doing. They’re on the scene, they know what transpired." I think we ALL know what is going on here Colonial Region swept the Chris Audenried arrest under the rug because they were currently negotiating with Nazareth, and Chris Audenried is on the Police Committee.

Note: Audenried is not on the Police Committee. He is on the Law Committee. Yes, there was a last minute switch.
