Colonial Regional Holding Citizens Police Academy

The annual event takes place Sept. 11 through Nov. 30.

The Colonial Regional Police Department is giving citizens a taste of police work.

The department is taking applications for its annual Citizens Police Academy.

The academy, which has now graduated several classes, shows citizens what police do during the course of their days.

Classes include accident investigation, crimes code, the use of force and more. Demonstrations and tours are conducted, including of the prison and 911 center.

Anyone interested should fill out the application on the department's website and fax it in at 610-861-4829. Anyone seeking more information should call 610-861-4820.

The deadline for applications is Sept. 4.
