Charges Dropped Against Man Accused of Selling Crystal Meth

Charges against an Allentown man, who allegedly tried to sell $60,000 worth of crystal methamphetamine to a confidential informant in Plainfield Township, have been dropped.

Charges were dropped Monday against an Allentown man who was to sell two pounds of crystal methamphetamine for $60,000 in Plainfield Township, according to a report in The Express-Times.

However, an investigation of Johnny B. Constanza, 48, of 309 S. 16th St., is still ongoing, according to Nils Frederiksen, spokesman for the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office.

Frederiksen did not say whether new charges are expected, The Express-Times report said.

On Dec. 3, according to court documents, Constanza -- who goes by the alias “Joey Sofake" or "Joey Safoke” -- pulled up to a residence about 20 miles from his home driving a black Mercedes and delivered a package to his buyer.

The buyer turned out to be a confidential informant.

The records, which spell the suspect's alias two ways, say the informant ordered two pounds of crystal meth from Constanza and agreed to meet him at a residence on the 1400 block of Church Road. The package Constanza gave to the informant had two plastic containers.

The substance field-tested negative for methamphetamine, but the records contain no explanation for this. Police also recovered two cell phones from Constanza, one of which was used to arrange the deal, the records say.
