Bushkill Man Caught in Drug Sting at Giant

A man is in Northampton County Prison under $100,000 bail after he allegedly told a confidential informant and an undercover officer during a drug buy that he planned to learn how to make a pipe bomb so he could blow up headquarters.

Scott Charles Gostony, 38, of the 600 block of Jacobsburg Road, met with the informant and undercover officer in the parking lot of the in on March 15 around 9:20 p.m., according to police.

Officers from Colonial Regional, and Bushkill Township worked with the Northampton County Drug Task Force on the buy-bust operation.

According to police, Gostony sold one-quarter gram of methamphetamine to the informant and undercover officer for $40.

During the transaction, Gostony allegedly made comments that he did not like a certain officer, who was not named, from Colonial Regional and that he wanted to blow up the Brodhead Road station.

Gostony went on to say, according to police, that he planned to go on Facebook to learn how to make a pipe bomb.

After Gostony left the parking lot, he was taken into custody by other members of the drug task force. The $40 given to him for the methamphetamine was recovered along with a cell phone he used to arrange the drug deal.

Gostony was charged with two felony counts of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, and one count each of possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of communication facility and threats to use weapons of mass destruction.

He was arraigned before on-call District Judge Nancy Matos-Gonzalez and sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Prior to Thursday's arrest, Gostony has had minimal contact with police in Northampton County, according to court documents.

Other than a disorderly conduct charge out of Bushkill Township in 2010, Gostony has received three traffic citations -- one in Lower Nazareth -- since 1998.
