Burglary, Larceny Thefts Top June Nazareth Crime

The Nazareth Police Department handled 19 crimes during the month of June.

The Nazareth Police Department investigated 19 crimes during the month of June, according to a report prepared by Police Chief Thomas Trachta.

Between June 1 and June 28, the police department had 19 crimes that were reported with 19 follow-up investigations leading to eight arrests and eight hours of court time.

Of those crimes, one was a burglary, five were larceny thefts, there were two each for fraud and vandalism, three for disorderly conduct and two other undisclosed offenses.

The police department handed out 14 traffic tickets and issued 11 warnings.

There were also five traffic accidents and five that weren't reported.

Regarding parking enforcement, there were 172 parking meter violations, 25 non-meter violations issued and 147 parking tickets.

Nazareth collected $7,351.91 in fines for June compared with $6,728.38 for May. 

The report is delivered to the Nazareth Borough Council every month.
