Barred from Wal-Mart, Duo Allegedly Tries to Steal PS3

Tracey Howell of Palmer Township was cited for trespassing and released; Travese Deremer of Monroe County was arrested and charged with trespassing and retail theft.

A Palmer Township woman and a Monroe County man -- both with a history of retail thefts -- allegedly tried to steal a PlayStation 3 (PS3) from in Lower Nazareth Township, according to .

Around 4:45 p.m. on Nov. 15, police say, Travese Deremer, 29, of Brodheadsville allegedly placed a PS3 worth $299 in his shopping cart.

Deremer and Tracey Howell, 23, of the 3000 block of Clearview Street then attempted to leave the store without paying, but were stopped at the door by Wal-Mart's loss prevention staff.

Due to their history of retail thefts, according to police, Deremer and Howell had received written warnings from Wal-Mart that state they are not to return to the big-box retailer.

Howell was cited with trespassing and was released. No prior retail theft charges in Pennsylvania could be found on Howell.

Deremer was charged with trespassing and retail theft (first-degree misdemeanor, which has a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison). He was arraigned before District Judge Joseph Barner.

In March, Deremer received a non-traffic citation for retail theft in Palmer Township, according to court documents.
