Armed Robber Empties Registers at Walmart, Police Say

Man wearing wig and fake beard brandished gun and ordered employees to the floor, police say.

The Walmart on Linden Street in Bethlehem Township was robbed at gunpoint at about 10 p.m. Saturday, police say.

The robber—wearing a dark-colored dreadlock wig and fake beard—brandished a handgun and ordered employees to get on the floor, according to a Bethlehem Township Police Facebook post.

Then he reportedly forced cashiers to hand over cash and checks from the registers. No one was hurt during the robbery, police said.

The robber arrived and left alone driving a black Kia Optima, which was last seen leaving the parking lot of the Walmart at 3926 Linden St.

The robber is described as a light-skinned man, possibly in his 30s, with a medium build and between 6-feet and 6-feet-4-inches tall. In addition to the wig and fake beard disguise, he also wore a baggie, red winter jacket and dark pants.

Police released stills from the surveillance videos taken in the store and the parking lot outside.
