Mark Aurand Should Win PA Senate District 40 in Democratic Primary

On May 8, I went out to hear the three candidates running for state senate district #40 debate each other at Gracedale. This was a Democratic debate for the primary on May 20 so I expected to hear a lot of similarities on the issues. The clear winner however was Mark Aurand because of his command of the knowledge and nuances of the issues.  For instance, he seemed to be the only one who knew what Medicaid Expansion meant and the differences between Medicaid and Medicare.

Mark Aurand understands the range of issues that face Pennsylvania.  He was able to articulate the need for a moratorium on fracking across the board to protect people, water and air.

I attended this meeting with a friend to get to know the candidates in my surrounding districts because they all have to work together in Harrisburg to find common ground.
