Charles M. Stewart Sr., 68, of Nazareth, passed into the more immediate presence of our Lord on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at St. Lukes University Hospital, Fountain Hill.
He and his wife Daun (Kleintop) Stewart were married for 23 years.
Born March 10, 1944 in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Herbert and Blanche (Lewall) Stewart. He was employed by Bethlehem Steel Company until the mid 1980s when he became a tradesman in the plumbing industry. He retired in 2008. He had most recently worked as a crossing guard in Nazareth.
Charles was a member of the and was a life member of the North End Wanderers Assoc., Bethlehem.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: son, Charles, Jr., and wife, Jill Stewart, of Bethlehem, PA; daughters, Kathy, wife of Dexter Serrao, of Panama, Hope, wife of James Pearson, of Bethlehem, PA; grandson, Dino Soriano, Jr., of Phillipsburg, NJ; granddaughters, Kristin Soriano, of FL, Gabrielle Pearson, of Bethlehem; great-grandson, Nico; brother, George, and wife Donna Stewart, of AZ; brother-in-law, Dan, and wife Miriam Kleintop, of Halliford, VA. He was predeceased by sisters Lee Reinert Hittinger and Lulu Barr, and by brothers Herbert Stewart and Robert Stewart.
A memorial service will be held at Nazareth Moravian Church, 4 S. Main Street, Nazareth, at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012, Rev. Jeffrey D. Gehris officiating.
