Touch-a-Truck 2012 Planned for Oct. 6 at Tuskes Park

The Memorial Library of Nazareth & Vicinity's Touch-a-Truck fundraiser is set for Saturday, Oct. 6 at Tuskes Community Park of Upper Nazareth.

Are you ready for Touch-a-Truck? The Memorial Library of Nazareth & Vicinity is again teaming up with Upper Nazareth Township for a really fun event. Just like last year, the event will be held at Tuskes Community Park.

Touch-a-Truck will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6. There will be food and fun and special guests and tons of trucks!

Volunteers from the Boy Scouts will be on hand to help little ones climb in and out of the vehicles -- you can even honk the horns and turn on the sirens. It will be a great time!

Here's a list of some of the interesting vehicles you'll be able to see (and touch):

  • Martin Guitar Box Truck
  • Just Born "PEEPSTER"
  • Bethlehem Area Public Library Bookmobile
  • A huge (35 feet long!) tow truck from Scott's Collision Centers
  • A hearse from Schisler Funeral Homes
  • Two trucks from Fogel's Fuel
  • Kitchen Magic Box Truck
  • Republic Services Garbage Truck
  • Cement Mixer from Berks Products
  • And many, many more! (Including police cars, fire trucks and ambulances from local communities!)

Also new this year -- celebrity storytimes in the bookmobile! Special guests include:

  • WFMZ sportscaster Troy Hein
  • Dasher the dog (and his owner Dr. John Yaswinski of Nazareth Veterinary Center)
  • Cat Country 96's Becca Lynn!

Special guest Ferrous of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs will be mixing up some fun, too!

Remember to buy your tickets in advance ($5 per ticket or $20 for 5 tickets) at the library to be entered into a prize raffle. Or buy tickets at Tuskes on the day of the event. All proceeds benefit the library. See you then!
