Nazareth Rotary Club Rose Sale

The Nazareth Rotary Club will celebrate community history during its annual rose sale on June 10 and 11.

The sale will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, June 10, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 11. 

Rotarians and members from the and Interact Clubs will be stationed at several locations throughout the Nazareth area. They will be selling commemorative roses in honor of the historic “payment day.”

Originally, Nazareth was a tract of 5,000 acres owned by William Penn’s family. The feudal tax on this land was one red rose, payable on June 24. This tradition led to Nazareth’s Colonial name of “The Barony of the Rose.”

The historic rose presentation will be re-enacted at noon on Saturday, June 11 at the  as part of the 33rd Annual Arts and Crafts Festival.

The long-stemmed roses will sell for $3.50 each and will be available at Nazareth's Center Square and at other locations around the area.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit Nazareth community projects. The roses are being provided by .

Center Square will be the main location to purchase roses, however, other selling locations may include:

  • U.S. Post Office, 9 N. Main St.
  • (Broad Street branch, Friday only)
  • (Saturday only)
  •  (for residents only)

** Some locations may not be staffed if the volunteer turnout is lower than currently expected
