Opening the Blue Cabinet: Moravians and Marriage

There are many questions about 18th century Moravian marriage practices: How did Moravians choose their marriage partners? Were couples really chosen by the Lot? How true are the stories about a blue cabinet where married couples had sexual intercourse? And what did church members think about the way church leaders controlled their marital life? This presentation will shed light on Moravian ideas on marriage and sexuality during the 18th century. Included in Pass into History admission of $12 for adults, $6 for children 6-13, free for children 5 and under.
