Wintry Weather Moves Into Region

The National Weather Service says sleet and freezing rain are possible through early Tuesday morning.

If you have to drive late tonight, you'll want to take extra care.

The National Weather Service says "a wintry mix of precipitation" is possible beginning later this evening, and a winter weather advisory has been issued for Northampton County from 9 p.m. tonight to 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch are possible, and untreated roads and walkways are likely to become slippery, according to the advisory.

Additionally, the Lehigh Valley Weather Patrol reports a possibility of sleet and freezing rain Monday night into Tuesday, turning into just rain later in the day.

The LVWP adds that light snow is possible Thursday night, with warmer weather arriving over the weekend.
