Taste of Spring is Over; High Wind Warning Issued

National Weather Service says damaging winds are coming, then maybe snow.

Did you enjoy that spring-like weather we’ve had these last two days? We hope so because, just in time for your Saturday, it’s over.

Today, it is expected to be cold and blustery, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued a “high wind warning” that will last until 9 p.m. this evening.

The forecast calls for sustained winds of between 25 and 35 mph, with gusts of up to 60 mph. The weather service is warning that some tree limbs and power lines and even weak trees will be knocked down and cause damage.

Widespread power outages are possible, according to the weather service warning. It may also be difficult to drive high-profile vehicles, particularly on bridges and overpasses.

The temperatures? The high is expected to be 42 degrees, but the nighttime low is expected to drop to 19, with a stiff northwest wind of near 20 mph. By Sunday night or early Monday, we may see a dusting of snow.
