Road Work for the Week of Nov. 5

Route 33 bridge inspections likely will create delays the week of Nov. 5. Back, local roads also remain closed in sections due to Superstorm Sandy damage.

Make your commute a little easier by avoiding the following road work this week:

  • From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5, crews will patch potholes on Aluta Mill Road between Cherry Hill and Bushkill Center roads in Bushkill Township. There will be lane restrictions.
  • From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5, crews will do milling work on Route 191 in Nazareth Borough. There will be lane restrictions. 
  • From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5 to 6, crews will inspect Route 33 bridges between the Van Buren Road overpass and Route 191 in Stockertown. There will be northbound lane restrictions. 
  • From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5 to 6, crews will inspect Route 33 bridges between Hecktown Road and Route 248 in Lower Nazareth Township. There will be northbound lane restrictions on Nov. 5. Expect southbound lane restrictions on Nov. 6.
  • From 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Nov. 5 to 9, crews will do drainage work on Route 512 between Highland Avenue and Brodhead Road in Hanover Township, Northampton County. There will be nighttime lane restrictions.
  • From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 6, crews will patch potholes on Route 248 between Hollo Road and Gracedale Avenue in Lower Nazareth and Upper Nazareth townships. There will be lane restrictions.
  • From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 6 to 7, crews will do milling work on Route 512 between Fox and Main streets in Bath Borough. There will be lane restrictions.
  • From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 7, crews will inspect Route 33 bridges between Route 512 and the Henry Road overpass in Plainfield Township. There will be northbound lane restrictions.

The following state roads remain closed due to Superstorm Sandy damage (as of 6:30 p.m. Saturday):

  • PA 191 between Kesslersville and Pen Argyl roads in Plainfield Township is closed due to a downed utility;
  • Jacobsburg Road between Sexton and Belfast roads in Bushkill Township is closed due to a downed tree;
  • Jacobsburg Road between Henry and Belfast roads in Bushkill Township is close due to a downed tree in utility wires;
  • Tatamy/Uhler Road between Short Road in Forks Township and Richmond Aston Road in Lower Mount Bethel Township is closed due to downed trees in utility lines;
  • Main Street between Poplar and Broad streets in Bath Borough was closed due to downed utility wires but is now open;
  • Moser Road between Scenic Drive and Delps Road in Moore Township is closed due to a downed utility;
  • Bushkill Drive between Church and West End roads in Moore Township is closed due to a downed tree in utility wires;
  • Yost Road between Delaware Avenue in Chapman Borough and English Road in Moore Township is closed due to a downed utility;
  • PA 248 between Creek Road in Lehigh Township and Cottonwood Road in Moore Township is closed due to a downed utility;
  • PA 987 between Monocacy Avenue in Chapman Borough and Valley View Drive in Moore Township is closed due to a downed utility;
  • Green Pond Road between Ridgewood Road and Northampton Street in Palmer Township is closed due to a downed tree in utility wires.
