Northwood Ave. Sinkholes Fixed Fast [Video]

Crews from Easton Suburban Water Authority have been diligently working to repair sinkholes that shut Northwood Avenue in Palmer Township.

Those sinkholes that shut Northwood Avenue in Palmer Township Thursday didn't look like sinkholes Friday.

Crews from Easton Suburban Water Authority have been working around the clock to repair the sinkholes, which were caused by a water main break, and restore a road that's a vital connection between Forks Township and nearby Palmer and Lower Nazareth townships.

In a 3 p.m. announcement Thursday, PennDOT said Northwood Avenue is closed between Tatamy and Van Buren roads. Traffic is being detoured on Tatamy Road, Park Avenue, Route 248 and Van Buren Road.

The closure was expected to last three to four days, PennDOT said.
