National Weather Service Issues Wind Advisory

The strongest wind gusts -- up to 45 mph -- are expected to hit between 6 p.m. tonight and 10 a.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory from 5 p.m. today until 4 a.m. Saturday. The advisory affects much of eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including Northampton and Lehigh counties.

Winds will come in from the west at 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. The strongest winds are epected between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m.

Strong winds can knock down tree limbs and even some weak trees. Isolated power outages may occur.

Motorists, especially those driving high-profile vehicles, should use extra caution.

Light-weight outdoor objects, such as patio furniture and garbage cans, should be brought inside or secured.
