Mother Nature is full of surprises and one of them will be a winter high temperature near 60 degrees today, Jan. 30.
Afternoon and evening rain Wednesday could be heavy, producing one to two-and-a-half inches of rain and a thunderstorm in a six-hour period, according to a hazardous weather outlook from the National Weather Service.
A flash flood watch will go into effect at 4 p.m. Wednesday and expire at 7 a.m. Thursday.
According to the NWS, "Prolonged and heavy downpours [will] cause flash flooding in some locations. Road flooding is likely. Since the ground is frozen just below the surface and plants are taking in very little water, heavy rainfall will not be absorbed."
The WFMZ forecast also calls for a warm day and some heavy rain.
