Hanoverville Road Closure Extended to Aug. 29

Hanoverville Road in Lower Nazareth Township was supposed to be reopened by now, but bad weather has delayed the work.

in will stay closed until Aug. 29, according to the township.

The project to replace a culvert near Hahn Meadow Park began Aug. 8 and has been delayed by bad weather.

Township Manager Timm Tenges said that four large pipes, which were laid in the 1950s or 1960s, have worn out and need to be replaced. The new pipes will be made out of reinforced concrete and will be used for drainage.

Vehicles traveling on Route 191 are being detoured onto Steuben Road, which connects with Georgetown Road. Georgetown intersects back to Hanoverville Road just past the construction.

The detour will affect traffic in both directions through Aug. 29, or until the project is completed, weather permitting.

The project is being completed by township employees.
