Second Annual Bunko Battle Against Cancer to be Held Saturday

Local woman plans Bunko night to battle cancer.

Lisa Jorgensen of Nazareth is hard at work ensuring that the Second Annual Bunko Battle Against Cancer is a great success. The event, which will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, is being held by the Creekside Crusaders 4 A Cause.

All ladies -- this is a girls' night out! -- are invited to to play Bunko, a fun and silly dice game similar to Yahtzee, enjoy a light supper, and peruse a few vendors. The net proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.

I will be there with my friend, Heather, taking turns rolling the dice, and showing off charms, including cancer ribbon charms and charms with words of encouragement. Pampered Chef and Scentsy distributors will also attend.

Tickets are $15 payable at the door, but Jorgensen would appreciate an RSVP by Friday, May 18, so she knows how much food to prepare. She plans to serve soup, salad and sandwiches. You can call her at (610) 614-1760, or send an e-mail to ljjorgensen@verizon.net

Baskets for a raffle and monetary donations are also being accepted.
