A Collection of Great Lehigh Valley Things

Deb Walter recommends some terrific -- and local -- things she has recently enjoyed.

First, the is really nice. The bacon and cheese omelet is still great and the atmosphere is more inviting. , after a few more omelets, I may forgive you for closing for so long.

Secondly, Dee Roscioli, a graduate of Wilson Area High School and , is phenomenal in the It's only running until July 5 and trust me, you will kick yourself if you miss it.

Roscioli is funny and absolutely delightful. The first time I saw "Sweeney Todd," I was singing "Pretty Women" (the William Michaels and Christopher Coucill's rendition) over and over. Now that I saw it a second time, I've been singing "Not While I'm Around." A must-see!

Thirdly, if you haven't been to Keepsake Farms in Bushkill Township (out High Street toward Cherry Hill Road) and picked up the ricotta, you are missing something. I made homemade cheese with my grandmother to fill our homemade ravioli at Easter and Christmas, and I'm telling you -- Keepsake Farms is better. Forgive me, Grandma.

Fourthly, last week I finally visited Connections for Women in Bangor, a not-for-profit consignment store of upscale clothing and accessories. My friend, Carol Andersen, put this together with some help from her friends and it is a wonderful shopping experience. A beautiful shop with beautiful clothes and friendly service. I picked up an Evan Picone skirt that I will wear tomorrow -- for $7. Run -- don't walk -- to 55 Broadway.

Yes, there's more. We visited the , which overlooks the links at the Club at Morgan Hill in Easton, this past Saturday night. It was spectacular. The view was breathtaking. The bread basket and the crab cake appetizer stole the evening. After that, it was a nice walk along the river. I forgot how pretty that can be.

This weekend, I'll be seeing The Tempest at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival. The show features an all-star cast. And I'm desperately trying to make it out to Forks Township to the  as I have a hankering for the amazing hummus and tabouli.

That's all for now. Enjoy the upcoming weekend!
