The Grab & Go Kids Planner

A festival, a carnival with fireworks and Mickey Mouse are just a few of the things to do this week with the little ones.

1. 

Where/When: Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company; July 27 to 30
Times: Wednesday and Thursday, 6-10pm; Friday, 6-11pm; Saturday, 5-11pm.
Why Go: While enjoying rides, games, raffles, food and live entertainment, you will also be supporting a local fire company and local firefighters. The always-amazing fireworks display is scheduled for Friday around 10-10:30pm, with a raindate of Saturday.
Price: $2 for parking

2. Mickey Mouse to Make an Appearance at Perkins

When/Where: Perkins Family Restaurant and Bakery; Thursday from 5:30-7pm
Why Go: It’s kids night at Perkins from 4-11pm, with Mickey Mouse making a special appearance from 5:30-7pm.
The Deal: One free kids meal with the purchase of one adult entrée.

Where/When: The end of W. Center Street, Nazareth; July 28 to 31
Times: Thursday is "Ethinic Night" and will be held from 5-8pm. The Holy Family Festival will be held Friday and Saturday, 5pm-11pm and Sunday, 2-8pm.
Why Go: This Nazareth tradition will feature rides, games, bingo, food, dancing and live music. New to the festival this year is "Ethnic Night." Only food -- pizza, cabbage and noodles, bratwurst and kraut, pierogies and meatball sandwiches -- in addition to refreshments will be available during "Ethnic Night."

Where/When: ; Saturday from 10-1pm and Sunday from 1-4pm
Why Go: Enjoy Colonial activities like butter making, dancing and more at the historic Whitfield House at 215 E. Center St. in Nazareth. There will be plenty of food, fun and games for the whole family to enjoy. Colonial costumes are encouraged (and fun)!
Price: $5

 

5. Auditions for the Holiday Revue, "Twas One Crazy Night Before Christmas!"

Where/When: ; Tuesday, August 2 from 10-noon
Why Go: Performers from first grade through high school are needed for acting, singing and dancing parts.
Audition details: All auditioners are asked to bring a head shot. First through third graders must be prepared to give a brief introduction and to sing “Happy Birthday." Those in fourth grade through high school must be prepared to perform a solo voice piece, a brief monologue and a “cold” read.
