Martin Guitars Wood Summit Focuses on Environment

Tree planting, presentations planned for C.F. Martin & Co. fourth annual wood summit Thursday.

Martin Guitars are made from wood. And the company that produces them want to ensure that there will be wood available for years to come.

C.F. Martin & Co., Inc. is holding its fourth Wood Summit Thursday with wood vendors coming from all over the world to join U.S. government officials and environmental groups at the company's Upper Nazareth Township guitar factory to discuss current environmental concerns, supply chains and laws surrounding wood procurement.

The event takes place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Besides lectures and demonstrations, a tree will be planted in planting in memory of Jyotindra M. Yogi, a long-time Indian rosewood vendor for C.F. Martin & Co., Inc. and Martin family friend.

His granddaughter and her husband, Shreya Yogi and Nischit Doshi, will be in attendance for that dedication.

Those in attendance will hear presentations about European Trade and Australian Timber regulations and supplier relationships, hear CEO Chris Martin speak about the company and receive a tour of the Martin Guitar factory.
