LVIA Adds Non-Stop Flight to Punta Gorda on Allegiant

Allegiant Air will offer non-stop flights to Punta Gorda in southwest Florida from Lehigh Valley International Airport starting at the end of October.


Lehigh Valley International Airport will offer new non-stop jet service to southwest Florida via Punta Gorda Airport beginning  October 31 on Allegiant Air.

Allegiant will introduce the new service with fares as low as $99.99 one way.

The new flights will operate twice weekly between Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE)  and Punta Gorda Airport (PGD). Flights are scheduled Thursdays, departing ABE at 6:15 p.m. and arriving at PGD at 8:50 p.m., and Sundays, leaving PGD at 2:50 p.m., arriving at ABE at 5:30 p.m.

Punta Gorda has been one of the most-requested destinations of local passengers, according to Charles Everett, LVIA executive director.

Allegiant’s first flight at ABE was on December 16, 2005 to Orlando/Sanford International  Airport (SFB). Allegiant also flies from ABE to St. Petersburg - Clearwater/Tampa and Myrtle Beach.

Allegiant operates with the MD80 (166 seats), and late fall, will begin operating with an Airbus 320 (177 seats).

The Southwest Florida Coast destination features beach-front dining, exotic wildlife and a wide variety of recreation in the Gulf of Mexico. Punta Gorda Airport is located midway between Fort Myers and Sarasota. 

About the $99.99* one-way fares: Seats are limited. Fares are one way and not available on all flights. Tickets must be purchased by Aug. 6, 2013, for travel by Feb. 11, 2014. For baggage fees, please visit allegiant.com.
