Jeff Daniels Performs on Conan with Custom Martin Guitar

Jeff Daniels belts out "The Dirty Harry Blues" -- with help from his custom OM Jeff Daniels Martin Guitar -- during a recent appearance on Conan.

In early June, Upper Nazareth-based introduced a new Custom Artist Edition Guitar, the OM Jeff Daniels, which was designed in collaboration with the award-winning film and stage actor.

Exciting? Absolutely!

Last week, however, the "Dumb and Dumber" actor introduced the OM Jeff Daniels to all of America -- well, to those not glued to the Olympics -- during an appearance on Conan.

Exciting just went up a few more notches to EXCITING.

Around the 2:21 mark, Daniels picks up his guitar, which was situated behind Conan O'brien's desk. He explains to Conan and the studio audience that the instrument he's holding is not just any guitar -- it's the OM Jeff Daniels, made by Martin Guitar.

He then proceeds to belt out "The Dirty Harry Blues," a musical homage to Clint Eastwood.

Daniels, who picked up his first Martin Guitar in 2001, has taken his passion for music public with five albums of mostly self-penned songs and occasional tours.

Authorized C. F. Martin dealers are taking orders for the OM Jeff Daniels Custom Artist Edition, which retails for $4,999. Participating dealers are listed on the C.F. Martin website, www.martinguitar.com.

Daniels is currently starring in Aaron Sorkin’s HBO series “The Newsroom.”

I saw Jeff eating at Mivajo's with some Martin Guitar execs last summer! We all wanted to ask for an autograph but we left him alone.

I was there too. I tried to take a covert/discrete picture of him on my camera phone, but ended up looking like a blurry picture of bigfoot.
