Halloween Adventure Opens in Lower Nazareth

The seasonal store is now open for business in the Northampton Crossings shopping center.

In my quest for the perfect Halloween costume, the selections at and just haven’t been cutting it. Thankfully, they don’t have to.

Halloween Adventure opened for business on Oct. 12 in the Northampton Crossings shopping center, temporarily filling the empty spot left by Blockbuster.

The seasonal corporation offers up merchandise year-round on its website, but the Halloween Adventure store in Lower Nazareth Township will only be around for a short time.

“We’ll be open our full hours right up to Halloween,” said store manager Ron DiAntonio. “Then we’ll stay open a few days after, with shorter hours… while we do our after-Halloween sale.”

The store carries all things Halloween, including:

  • Costumes for kids and adults
  • A full line of makeup
  • Wall and ceiling decorations
  • Accessories like wigs, hosiery and fake weapons
  • Hats. Lots of hats.

“We have every kind of hat,” DiAntonio said. “Gangster hats, pirate hats, Viking helmets -- if you want to mix it up.”

So what are the fashionable costumes for 2011?

“Pirates are always popular,” according to DiAntonio. “Harry Potter is still popular [and] superheroes are always big. We have [superhero costumes for] kids and adults.”

Headlining this year’s superhero costume fad are Green Lantern and Captain America, both of whom had their own movies this summer. Their costumes are already promising to be bestsellers.

According to DiAntonio, Smurfs and Star Wars are favorites for kids. Also noteworthy is the all-around favored ghost-faced killer from the Scream franchise.

Halloween Adventure is no stranger to the plaza; it was in the same spot last year and had no complaints. Two years ago, it was across the street on Dryland Way in the Lower Nazareth Commons plaza.

“This was a good location last year,” DiAntonio said. “That’s why we came back.”

Halloween Adventure can be found at 3714 Easton-Nazareth Highway. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fittings rooms are available to try before you buy.

Now I just have to decide if I want to go as Green Lantern or Captain America. What do you think?
