Dutch Springs to Hold Underwater Carving Contest

The 12th Annual Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest will be held Oct. 1 at Dutch Springs in Lower Nazareth Township.

BYOP -- Bring Your Own Pumpkin -- to the 12th Annual Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest on Oct. 1 at in Lower Nazareth Township.

There is a $5 participation fee.

The When and Where:

  • Saturday, Oct. 1 at Dutch Springs, 4733 Hanoverville Road, Bethlehem (Lower Nazareth Township)
  • 10 a.m. -- Registration begins at the Blue Koi Gift Shoppe
  • 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. -- You've got three hours to carve your pumpkins. The contest will take place on the underwater platforms near the scuba diving area.
  • 1:45 p.m. -- All pumpkins must be returned to the Blue Koi Gift Shoppe for judging
  • 2 p.m. -- Awards ceremony

The Rules:

  • BYOP -- Bring Your Own Pumpkin
  • Participants are not allowed to sketch on their pumpkins before entering the water.
  • Pumpkins must be gutted before entering the water.
