Dutch Springs in Lower Nazareth Township will open for the 2013 season on April 6, but only to scuba divers. Those looking forward to the AquaPark and Sky Challenge will have to wait for Memorial Day weekend.

According to www.dutchsprings.com, the park will be open for scuba diving every Saturday and Sunday in April from 8 a.m to 6 p.m. Click here for the full 2013 schedule.

Dutch Springs has been known for years to scuba enthusiasts as a prime diving spot. The 50-acre lake was once a limestone quarry for the former National Portland Cement plant.

Scuba divers can explore a submerged Cessna plane, school bus, helicopter, firetruck, boats and other sunken treasures, all while watching perch, bass and koi swim by.

Dutch Springs sells season passes. For individuals afraid of commitment, there is general admission.
