Wanted: Downtown Nazareth Coordinator

Interested candidates are being sought to serve as Nazareth's downtown business coordinator.

The Nazareth business community is seeking a coordinator to revitalize its downtown district.

Tina Smith, president of the Nazareth-Bath Area Chamber of Commerce, provided details Monday of an advertisement for the position, first mentioned at the Borough Council's worksession Thursday night.

"The Nazareth Bath Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to be a part of the revitalization efforts in Downtown Nazareth. Because of our involvement on The Nazareth Economic Development Committee, we are pleased to share this exciting job opportunity with our chamber membership," Smith said in a press release.

Wanted: Downtown Nazareth Coordinator (part-time) responsible for the coordination, administration, documentation, and implementation of the revitalization effort in Nazareth.

Must be an enthusiastic advocate for the business community within the borough and knowledgeable about information, resources and programs related to revitalization initiatives.

Duties include working with volunteers in the community to promote downtown development by marketing properties; working with property owners on building improvements; recruiting and retaining businesses; and producing downtown promotional material. Strong computer skills and social media knowledge required. An interest in historic preservation preferred.

Strong public speaking and media exposure required with interpersonal and team-building skills; ability to build and leverage strong relationships. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational and supervisory experience and the ability to work independently are essential. 

Downtown Nazareth Coordinator needs to manage revitalization initiative in Nazareth and must have willingness to attend after hours business and networking events.

Volunteer management experience necessary. Valid drivers’ license required. Economic Development experience necessary. Please forward resume with cover letter and salary requirements to:
