Please Help a Good Man Who's Helped Many Others

This blog is different from any of my past blogs. It's not about Donate My Weight and it's not about Nazareth.  It's about a man named, Jim Carls. Jim is a fixture in the Lehigh Valley community service scene, Assistant Principal of Trexler Middle School, a husband to his wife of 14 years, Michele, and a daughter to four young girls- Abigail, Alexandra, Madsen and Mackenzie.  Jim's also just been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer.

Here's where the story takes a surprising and especially disturbing twist- Jim has never smoked, never had a drink of alcohol and he ran 5 miles daily, up until his diagnosis.  He's the kind of person that should be in top shape, and yet...

It all began on July 16, the day after Jim celebrated his 45th birthday. He went to the doctor with complaints of a persistent cough and a sore back, thinking he may have bronchitis or a nasty cold. Instead, he learned he had Stage 4 Lung Cancer and in the blink of an eye, his life and the lives of his family were forever changed.

This all happened so quickly and though he has insurance with the school district, there are costs not covered by his insurance providers. Then, there's the additional costs of raising his family and the expenses that will come in future days. His wife had been the quintessential homemaker to their children, but is now frantically searching for a job.

That is why I'm posting this blog, to ask for your help. Jim is a guy who has helped many others over the years and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Please consider returning the favor and making a donation to help Jim and his family. I understand that money is tight in this economy, but even a donation of $10 or $20 will help.  To learn more about Jim and to make a donation, please visit-

Thank you all for taking the time to read this and for your help.
